Here we present two family trees that are explanatory of what has already been illustrated in the previous chapter.

The first direct descendant family tree describes the genealogy from Felice Ubertis (b. 1836 + 1892), a chimney-smoker by profession, merchant of pots and earthenware, to Pier Felice Degli Uberti (formerly Ubertis, formerly Noé) (b. 1955), now retired former bank clerk, who, as shown by court documents up to about 2012, was not civilly married. This tree is rigorously documented, degree by degree: each character is indicated, in his box, at the top, by a number in red colour, a number that is recalled at the bottom. Next to the number, at the bottom, are the documents that prove the reconstructed genealogy. Arrows in red indicate adulterous lineage.

The second family tree with collaterals describes the genealogy descending from Giacomo Francesco Ubertis (b. 1783 + in 1849), married to Angela Gagliardone. This tree, with the indication of collaterals, presenting almost 30 characters, will be deepened in the next chapters, with more details on specific characters, so as not to weigh down the reading. However, it was decided to proceed with the publication of this second tree from the outset in order to contextualise the social level not only of the adulterous branch from which Pier Felice degli Uberti (b. 1955) descends, as was done with the first tree, but of most of the descendants of the aforementioned Giacomo Francesco Ubertis (b. 1783 + in 1849). In a few cases, a few female descendants have been indicated because they have come into the limelight of the chronicle or custom in fairly recent times, as can be seen in local newspapers and various periodicals. Punctual documentary boxes, which will be published in the next chapters, will minutely describe these characters, relatives of Pier Felice degli Uberti, whose history is sometimes intertwined with his own.

As far as the “noble” aspect is concerned, a third and a fourth family tree, the first directly ascendant, starting with the aforementioned Giacomo Francesco Ubertis (b. 1783 + in 1849), married to Angela Gagliardone, will be published in the following chapters. The third family tree will illustrate the oldest genealogy, providing the reader with all the documents and useful references to refute the vaunted noble origins and, specifically, the title of “Count of Cavaglià” with which Pier Felice degli Uberti has been referred to, for several decades, in several texts and audios. Being several dozen genealogical documents, corroborated by two wide-ranging, punctual and in-depth archival studies, published by three Italian public universities (Piemonte Orientale, Genoa and Turin), conducted by chair professors of history, in turn coordinated by university researchers, the “noble” aspect deserved a separate treatment.

The fourth family tree reconstructs the genealogy of a notable and wealthy Ubertis family of the same name, which gave birth to various lawyers and illustrious personalities, at least locally, from the end of the 17th century onwards, a family with which Pier Felice degli Uberti attempted to confuse his ancestors and collaterals, even organising “commemorations” held during the events he organised in Casale: remember that Pier Felice's ancestors, although in the adulterous line, worked in the professions of fire-place builders, labourers, masons, photographers, etc. Some were sometimes so destitute that they married with certificates of poverty and died in begging hospices; however, there was also a doctor, Francesco (1872+1941), who was a district doctor, active in the anti-tubercular struggle, to whom we owe the beautiful monumental tomb in the town cemetery, with a very fine sculpture by Capra “Family Dr. Francesco Ubertis” . In the narrative of Pier Felice degli Uberti, however, he is made an “academic Professor”, when he never acquired, nor used, such an academic title, and placed (the name) in the “degli Uberti” mausoleum as shown above.
